About Me

I started my photographic journey over four decades ago with my first 35mm SLR – a used Pentax I got from my neighbor. College (Go Badgers!) and my social life got in the way of photography and I kind of forgot about it. Fast forward to 2005 when I earned my first DSLR – a Nikon D50! I’ve gone thru many different models (D80, D300), manufacturers (Canon, Fuji), and about 300,000 images. Today I mainly use my trusty Fuji XT-1 or my iPhone 11 Pro.
Why the blog? Why now? By day I am an IT professional striving to solve complex problems. By night I am a husband and a father to three wonderful children. Free time is a scarce commodity in my world. My wife, sensing the rut I had gotten myself in, adamantly told me that I needed to get a hobby. “I suppose I could start taking pictures again….”. So here we are!
I have spent the last several weeks going thru old images, culling out ones that don’t make the cut and have included some of my favorites on this site. I’ve even submitted a handful to different stock agencies and had about an 80% acceptance rate – including my first sale!
